My Top 10 #Fintech Apps in Nigeria

There’s no gainsaying the fact that FinTech (Financial Technology) is becoming the biggest sector in the world and I’m not surprised that Nigeria is not left behind, at least this time around. 👏🏼

The sector has received more funding (otherwise called Venture Capital) than any other sector in Nigeria and they’ve been driving real change and growth of the economy.

My top 10 🚀 #FinTech Apps in 🇳🇬(In no particular order & based on personal experience):

1. Carbon: Collateral-free quick loans, SME loans and I heard they are bundling more services like retail payments. 💪🏼

2. RiseVest: Wealth management & investment app. I personally use them to save in $ and get profit returns at the end of a specified period. 🏆

3. Bamboo: Stocks trading App. I buy and invest in US stocks from the comfort of my phone. 🔥

4. Remita: This should ideally come first but I don’t want to display my sentiments. I use the App for retail bills payments (electricity, airtime, data, Cable TV) and also payments to MDAs. Very smooth payment experience. 🍾

5. Piggyvest: Are you really a Nigerian living in this digital generation if you don’t have a PiggyBank account? 😏 It’s the digital version of “Kolo”. 🐷

6. Standard Chartered Bank: Like someone said on Twitter when I posted this, they are underrated and not doing enough #Marketing for wider adoption. They have what it takes to displace the orange guys in terms of retail banking. Anyways, they are my favorite Neo Bank. Never been to the banking hall since I started using them. ✅

7. Flutterwave: I use their Barter App for cross border payments and of course virtual $ cards. 🦋

8. Paystack: I consummate their services through 3rd party apps that integrated their payment engine. Smooth payment experience. 👐

9. Stanbic IBTC: As a group of companies, they have several arms but I make use of their App for Mutual funds investments which gives me better interest than leaving my money inside a bank account. 🤨

10. Chipper Cash: Although not physically present in Nigeria yet but they also offer cross border payment services which I’ve had the privilege to use twice or so and I heard they are expanding across more African countries. ✈️

Let me know your thoughts about any of these Apps and also tell me any brand you think should be on the list too.
